Kym mccarthy
Kym is an experienced and dynamic lawyer passionate about sustainability and climate change. After spending the last 20 years working in Europe, the Middle East and mainland Australia Kym has returned home to Tasmania bringing that experience with her.
Starting her professional journey in Tasmania, Kym honed her legal expertise at small local firms, where she developed a deep commitment to community-focused practices. Her adventurous spirit and commitment to making a difference led her abroad, where she thrived in a diverse array of roles and industries. Always keen to take on a challenge Kym’s experiences have included working with the United Nations in New York, advising the Army on the laws of armed conflict in Afghanistan and the special forces in Iraq—where she mastered the art of remaining calm under pressure.
More recently Kym has been working in the ASX space. She has led and executed sustainability strategies that deliver emission reduction and circular economy benefits. Importantly demonstrating the value of public disclosure in annual sustainability reports, including TCFD reporting and cross industry collaboration reports that continue to deliver ongoing commercial value.
Kym brings a refreshing blend of experience, passion and a dash of humour. Kym is not just a lawyer, she’s committed to creating a sustainable future, inspiring others to think sustainably and act boldly.
